How Does This Visa Work?
When you apply for a Subclass 190 Skilled Independent Visa, you may be in Australia or living overseas. You would need to have a substantive visa or a bridging A, B, or C visa to lodge from within Australia. Once you submit your application from within Australia, you will be issued a bridging visa that will allow you to stay in the country while your visa is being reviewed.

The Steps Involved in the Process
Step 1:- Lodgement of the Expression of Interest (EOI)
The EOI is a system that gives the government the power to prioritize and rank potential immigrants according to their merits, choosing the “brightest and best” immigrants and/or candidates to fill labor market shortages. Additionally, it equips the government with the means to adjust the kinds of jobs that are most in demand, limit the number of applicants for those jobs, and control the overall composition of the jobs that are approved each program year.
Step 2:- The Department of Home Affairs will send you an invitation.
Step 3:- Visa applications must be submitted within 60 days of receiving the invitation.
About Skill-Select
Please understand that an Expression of Interest (EOI) is not a visa application and does not entitle the holder to a bridging visa for Australia. Additionally, any claims made in an EOI that cannot be supported by a visa application, such as English proficiency, credentials, or work experience, will result in the rejection of the visa application.
